Pet Cat Swine Flu
Can pets and animals against swine flu?

I have 2 cats and 2 dogs and I'm from Cornwall and Canada. Swine influenza is very bad here. one she knew just died and his freaky. so I wanted to know if pets can do that too?

Slim chance. I have not heard of the transmission of any of the serotypes of swine flu to cats or dogs. There were laboratory experiments attempting to infect cats with H3N2 (human) H7N3 (Turkey) and H7N7 (seal) of virus and not get great results. However, cats are infected with the H5N1 avian virus and, recently, there was a report of the deadly flu in tigers and leopards (cats too) from the H5N1 strain. Their eating raw poultry meat. But this strain is very rare and only present in Asia. There are no reports of infections of H1N1 at all. As for the dogs, until recently there was nothing like the canine flu until 2004, when Greyhound fed horse meat was infected with horse horse () Of influenza (H3N8 type). The risk for dogs is also extremely low. So, in the theory of cats and dogs can get influenza, but little likely the H1N1 strain of pig. So there's no real reason to worry. and please do not feed their pets raw horse or chicken. S i you do not you are sure.
